Prayer & Play: Feeding the Spirit

Sunday Worship | 11:15a
Worship is at the center of our common life and gives us the strength and courage to do good work in the world as God’s hands and feet. You’ll hear 4 readings from the Bible every Sunday, and our prayers come from the Book of Common Prayer. The words we say together in our liturgy reflect our long tradition and rich history. We share Communion twice a month with our priest, and leadership of worship is shared among our lay leaders twice a month. We are a “come as you are” community- you’ll see work boots, bib overalls, and fancy hats (and sometimes even a dog or two!) in the pews on Sunday morning.

Wednesday Night LIVE | Wednesdays at 6:45p on Zoom
We gather online every Wednesday night to check in with one another, share prayer requests and life updates, and share in a short (5-10 min) prayer service. This is a great opportunity to get to know us, as well as our friends at our partner parish, St Mark’s. We began this weekly gathering together in the early days of the pandemic, and through it we have become lifelong friends and prayer partners!

Creation Corner

We believe that the ministry of hospitality is for everyone of all ages and abilities, so we always provide good options for little hands. The Creation Corner in our parish hall is specially made for young children to enjoy, with craft supplies, books, and Godly Play materials that bring the most beloved stories of scripture to life. Materials from the Creation Corner, or from our Busy Bags, are most welcome in worship as well. Our Creation Corner also has games and puzzles for older children and youth to enjoy, and many of our older folks would love to be challenged to a game!

Prayer Shawl Ministry

We are a community that often prays with our hands through creativity and service. Several of our members use their gifts and skills to produce pocket-sized prayer shawls and other small crafts that we provide to people in need of comfort and a tangible reminder of God’s presence. We are always looking for more people to contribute to this important work, and we enjoy one another’s company while we create!

Environmental Stewardship

Grace is home to a Scatter Garden for the burial of cremated remains and for communing with the beauty of God’s creation. Our faithful stewards keep the garden tidy, tended, and lush for visitors- both human and non-human. We have introduced a large variety of native plants to provide food and habitat for native bees and other insects and animals that are so important to our local ecosystem. Thanks to the stewards of our Scatter Garden and other flowerbeds on our campus, Grace is a designated Bee Sanctuary!

Grace prioritizes energy efficiency and good environmental stewardship wherever possible, which is why we have installed an electric vehicle charging station with space and outlets for two cars on the right side of our building. The safety lights and other safety features around our building are solar-powered, and we are diligent recyclers. We are always looking for new ways to be good stewards of God’s good earth!

July 4th Picnic and Duck Race

Every summer we gather on Independence Day for food, live music, lawn games and activities for kids, and our famous Rubber Duckie Race! Beginning in May, we sell “sponsorships” of rubber duckies to benefit our Blessings Pantry and other feeding ministries. On July 4th, we release hundreds of colorful rubber duckies into the Tye River, and the first to cross the finish line downstream wins a cash prize for their sponsor! All duckies are collected by volunteers and reused year after year. Whoever sells the most duck sponsorships in a year wins The Golden Duck, a coveted prize!
