Currently, in deference to the COVID 19 Pandemic, Grace Church, Massies Mill and St. Mark’s, Clifford are collaborating to offer services by Zoom each Sunday morning at 10 AM. In addition we offer “Wednesday Night Live,” each week at 7 PM, also by Zoom. This is a time to visit with members of both churches on line, talk about whatever is on our minds, and end with a simple Compline service from the Book of Common Prayer.
Once it is safe to regather, Grace Church will resume its regular Sunday worship schedule with a service at 11:15 AM. For most services we follow Rite II in the Book of Common Prayer, including Eucharist. During Advent and Lent and other holy times, we use Rite I in the Book of Common Prayer or services from other Anglican Prayer Books. We also offer a simple Sunday evening service using Evensong or simple communion with alternate music accompaniment (guitar, lyre, recorder, etc.).
During Holy Week there is usually a Seder supper and Maundy Thursday service, as well as Stations of the Cross, and Tenebrae. There is usually a “Blessing of the Animals” service in the fall around the time of St Francis’ Saints Day. (Grace Church is “dog friendly” and several parishioners bring their well-behaved dogs to church.)
We love to sing, so we sing the Gloria, often chant the Psalm, and use a sung version of the Creed. In addition to The Hymnal, we use Lift Every Voice and Sing and Wonder, Love, and Praise.
